Easter Celebration

I came back from an Easter celebration a couple of hours ago. It took for two hours but I thought it was long. It was in a catholic Monastery. It was the first time I saw a ceremony like this.

I like the readings though. Specially those which were stories about Moses. They were quite similar to those in Quran.

The good part was to see Christianity from a very close distance; more like the consumer, as it has been my position to Islam. That would give more insight to compare the two.

What I was thinking would be interesting is to compare all these religions and see their positive points, their emphasis and their nature and feel. I though that would be a nice study ....

I watched Alejandro Amenabar's "The Sea Inside" (Mar adentro). It was a very strong picture. Javier Bardem's acting was perfect, I should say. I watched the movie in a dark room and it did leave me with a very heavy weight of sadness in my heart.

Don Walker in Shiraz

Today I finished reading a chapter of a book, The Best Australian Essays 2007. It was introduced to me by a good friend. The Chapter is called In Shiraz and it is writted by Don Walker. Walker's visit to Shiraz, in south of Iran is the excuse for him to wirte more than a travel diary. All I can say in this very late Saturday night is that Walker knows Iran very well. I enjoyed it very much. He gives very accurate image of the country, and he doea it with beauty.
